Why Choose Vascular Laser?

Vascular Laser_blog image

Vascular laser is the non-surgical alternative for removing unwanted veins which cause cosmetic concern.

Vascular laser treatment is used to treat redness on the face, neck and chest as well as broken capillaries. The lasers selectively target unwanted or abnormal vessels in the skin whilst minimising damage to surrounding areas.

When a spider vein absorbs the pulsed light, the light converts to heat and coagulates the vessel. Vessels may darken at first; the body will then remove the vessel over time. Unlike surgery that leaves scars, laser vein removal uses laser light to constrict blood vessels, causing the veins to visibly disappear. The procedure is non-invasive and uses pulses of light to remove varicose and spider veins on the face and body.

For the removal of spider veins, the patient usually requires 3 to 6 treatments with 1 to 3 treatments required for isolated areas.

Dr Hugo Pin will assess your skin, your condition and can determine from there whether or not this treatment method would be suitable for you.

So, why should you choose vascular laser?

Vascular laser is non-invasive and does not leave scars. Vascular laser is also suitable for all skin types and requires no downtime. Vascular laser is considered a lunchtime treatment and can be performed within 30 minutes allowing you to return to work. Depending on the area treated, vessels may disappear immediately or within the next few days of treatment.

How to prepare for your treatment

  • You should avoid tanning beds and sun exposure for about 4 weeks before your treatment.
  • You should also avoid applying self-tanner for two weeks before appointments and alcohol consumption 2 days prior to appointments.
  • Make sure you are not wearing any make-up when you arrive at your appointment.

Post Treatment

Your skin may look and feel a little sunburnt for 2 or 3 days post-treatment, don’t worry this will go away.  Some sensitivity for a few days post-treatment is also completely normal. In the event of experiencing some mild swelling, sleeping with your head elevated for the next few days will help. You can also choose to use a cold compress on the treated area to reduce swelling.
