Anti-wrinkle injections
As a cosmetic treatment using a surgery-free approach, anti-wrinkle injections are quickly becoming some of the most sought after cosmetic treatments. This kind of treatment is a short-term fix to relax the muscles of the face around the smile-lines, forehead lines – horizontal and vertical, and crow’s feet.
The treatment
Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the nerve impulses to the muscles. This reduces the muscle activity that causes fine lines to form.
Dr Pin and his medical staff take a Parisian approach to their treatments; they believe that by targeting only specific fine lines and allowing others to act naturally, you can achieve that softened youthful look without the synthetic and stiff expressions that patients can often have when the relaxant is generalised.
The injections are administered in a single sitting with minimal and brief discomfort. The life span of the results from the injection varies from patient to patient, but you’ll notice the improvement 7 days after the treatment and the effects generally last from 3 to 6 months. To keep the wrinkle free look, you will need to have repeat treatments.
Dermal fillers
This kind of treatment is used to correct the wrinkles found around the bottom of the face and is used to plump-up the areas that are lacking collagen. By adding a bit of volume to the area, you’re able to have that soft and full look for your facial features.
Dermal fillers can be used for a range of different reasons aside from getting rid of wrinkles. These may be corrections of creases, folds or scars, enhancing lips, reconstruction of chins or noses, and could even be used for sculpting jawlines. They are not muscle relaxants like anti- wrinkle injections, but used as a volumising technique.
The treatment
By using naturally occurring substances that are present in the body, hyaluronic acids and collagen are used to fill the treatment zone; drawing water to the area, making the fine lines disappear and the area look full of volume.
There may be a little swelling to the area, but any side effects should resolve after 24 hours. Dermal fillers break down over time but the results generally last between 4 to 12 months depending on a few different variables.
